ScreenRecorder by Burak Uysaler

ScreenRecorder Now without following error during setup and updated to support Windows DPI settings. This version can only be installed on Windows 10 64 bit and later. Some of you asked to be able to set fps. I added another version to the below link in which you can set frames per second. I want to keep ScreenRecorder as simple as possible but for those who wants that feature, you can download it as well.

Macbook no login background

After disabling Vault in Mac, during login, there is no background  but only grey colored screen. Probably due to access issue to image file or no file at location. To solve this, change desktop pictures to anything in System Preferences and restart Mac.

 

Precision Touchpad Driver for Win on Mac

Windows on Mac ? Not as good as Mac on Mac Hardware, right ? 🙂  I will not go into details as most of them can be corrected by Windows Settings. However, there is one feature that cannot be corrected simply by any setting. The touchpad !

Some will ask why I ‘m running Windows on Mac ? Because I need to use Windows and on a better hardware 🙂

Touchpad in Mac is one of the best experience on Earth. What is the equivalent in Windows World ? Of course Windows Precision Touchpad that can be found some OEM machines and Microsoft Surface lines. People like me tried to deal with this loss of functionality in Windows on Mac by changing whell direction via registry, installing some 3rd party drivers those not signed or etc.

Lately I come across with a signed precision driver for Macs on github. This makes the touchpad in Windows on Mac exactly as good as Mac is running on Mac Hardware.

CPU Affinity

I developed a simple Windows Service to set a process affinity throughout the system. For example in a Terminal Services environment you donot want Excel process to use all cores (as it may lead to high CPU spikes) and want to limit it to 3 cores (which is enough) then place excel string in processfile.txt file and start the service. During startup and every 10 seconds it looks all excel processes and sets their affinity to 3 cores.

To install service go under the directory where you place all files. Then run InstallUtil.exe cpuaffinity.exe. Donot forget to place processfile.txt in the same directory as I did not handled such errors in the executable.

Due to request I did some changes in the code. Final one is in this location

CHANGES : Config filename is : procandaff.txt. First line is process name and the second line is the number of logical processors you want to set for the process. Currently I only support 1 to 8 logical processors in the code. If you set outside this range or higher number than the logical processors the machine currently has then service exists with config error in app eventlog.

Again no error handling 🙂 so donot forget to place config file where executable resides.

 

 

Remote Run

With this utility I developed you can run remote commands on computers. In the root of executable there must be 2 files: computers.txt (list of computers to run command remotely) and commandline.txt (the command you want to run). For example you need to remove SCCM agent from some of the machines in your domain, then insert C:\Windows\ccmsetup\ccmsetup.exe /uninstall line into commandline.txt and run the executable. I did not spend time to handle errors so donot forget to place these two files before running the tool.

Evde Media Center PC Oluşturmak (HTPC)

Film seyretmek, müzik dinlemek için uzun zamandır Western Digital Player kullanıyordum. Güzel bir cihazdır, ne atarsanız çalışır. Fakat istediğim değişiklikleri ve geliştirmeleri yapamıyordum. Özellikle ağ üzerinde MKV seyretmek gibi. 2014 ‘de yeni bir model çıkardılar ve bu modele gigabit ethernet koydular. Gerçi dokümanlarda bu detay yok o nedenle tam olarak emin olamadım, hatta desteğe bile sordum, ama tam olarak net yanıt alamadım. Zaten sadece gigabit network kartının olması yeterli değil, aynı zamanda bu ağ verisini işleyebilecek işlemci de gerekli. Eğer küçük, her şeyi içinde, tak kullan ve içine ne atsam seyrederim diyorsanız o zaman WD TV ‘yi gönül rahatlığıyla tavsiye ederim. Fakat ben daha farklı bir şeyler arıyordum, özellikle NAS sistemimdeki FHD dosyaları network üzerinden sorunsuz yürütebilmek için bir şeyler …

ASUS UN62

Sonunda mini pc almaya karar verdim. İşlemci dünyasındaki hızlı gelişmeler, bir çok bileşeni küçük ortamlara paketlemeyi sağladığından beri gittikçe küçülen mini pc ‘ler. Asus ‘un modellerini çok beğeniyordum ve bir UN62 aldım. Notebook i5 işlemcisi, 8GB RAM ve 128GB SSD ve 10/100/1000 LAN. İşletim Sistemi elbette Windows 8.1. Yapabileceklerimin sınırı yoktu artık … Ön yüze güzel bir Media Player uygulaması lazım. XBMC bu işin krallarından. Açık kaynak kodlu, daha önceden XBOX için geliştirme yapıldığını hatırlıyorum, sonra bunu farklı platform ‘lara port ettiler ve proje çok aktif bir şekilde devam ediyor. Ben Helix adı verilen 14.0 version ‘unu kurdum … Programın tüm geliştiricilerine teşekkürler … Makine açıldığında auto login ‘i aktif hale getirmek ve task scheduler ile logonda kodi.exe (XBMC ‘nin exe ‘si) ‘yi otomatik açmak yeterli oldu. Böylece makine açıldığında tam bir media player gibi açılıyor. Fakat gerektiğinde Windows 8.1 ‘den Tivibu, Digiturk, Youtube, Facebook, Internet Explorer ‘a da ulaşabiliyorsunuz. Sınır yok !. Media Player ‘ı uzaktan nasıl kumanda edeceğim dediğinizi duyar gibiyim. Bunun çok yöntemi var, örneğin cihaza IR receiver alıp akıllı kumanda hatta basit kumandalar ile bile yönetme şansınız var. Ama ben pratik işleri seviyorum o nedenle Windows Phone ‘uma ücretsiz XBMC Remote ‘u indirdim ve wireless üzerinden media player ‘ı yönetiyorum. Örneğin Youtube ‘u ekleyebilir XBMC ‘nin kendi kullanıcı arabirimi üzerinden kullanmaya devam edebilirsiniz.

Güncelleme: Tüm makineyi full kontrol edebilmek için bir çözüm gerekiyordu, piyasada bir çok mini klavye var. Tercihimi Lenovo ‘nun N5902 ‘sinden yana yaptım. Henüz elime ulaşmadı, fakat tecrübenin optimal olacağından eminim.

Bu klavyeyi satın alamadım, fakat Logitech K830 ‘u satın aldım. Tam bir HTPC klavyesi. Işıklı ve touch pad ‘li, kesinlikle tavsiye ederim.

Lenovo Thinkpad 8

Lenovo ‘nun 8.3″ ekranlı yeni Thinkpad modeli. Ekranı 1920×1200 FHD IPS olan bu cihazda her şey var.

SSD diski ile hız canavarı olan bu cihazın ağırlığı yaklaşık 400 gram. Üzerinde stereo hoparlör, micro USB 3.0, micro HDMI ve micro SD kart girişi bulunuyor. SIM kartlı modelleri de mevcut olan bu cihazı bir hafta kullandım.

Tecrübelerime göre şunu söyleyebilirim, baytrail tabletlerin gelebileceği mükemmel noktaya ulaşılmış durumda. Ekran FHD olduğu için internette gezinirken, doküman okurken inanılmaz bir netlik, canlılık ve keskinlik sağlıyor. Ön (2MP) ve arka (8MP) kameraların görüntüsü ve düşük ışıktaki performansı inanılmaz iyi. Tabletlerin fotoğraf ya da video çekimlerine uygun cihazlar olmadıklarını düşünen bir kişi olarak, çalışma koşullarının içerisinde sıkça fotoğraf ya da video görüntüsü alması gereken çalışanlar için harika bir tablet.

Örneğin sigortacılık, kredilendirme, avukatlık vb iş kollarında rahatlıkla kullanılabilir. Her türlü desktop uygulamasının, web uygulamasının sorunsuz çalıştığı ve aynı zamanda fotoğraf makinesi kalitesine oldukça yakın fotoğraf alabilen bu cihazın taşınabilirliği ve 8 saat pil ömrü de eklendiğinde, çantadan her an hızlıca çıkarıp, yarım saniyede tek tuşla standby ‘dan uyandırıp, anında fotoğraf çekimi yapabilir ve bunu şirket uygulamaları ile entegre bir şekilde beklemeksizin kullanabilirsiniz.
